Why You Should Invest IN SEO

Don’t Let Your Business go the way of the Do Do Bird!

This blog post is for you brother or sister CEO who is trying to decide when is the best time to invest in SEO strategies. My recommendation is simple: If you don’t want your business to go the way of the Do Do bird you have to invest in SEO. I can’t tell you how many business owners I talk to who I can tell are thinking: why should I invest in SEO. I can just stick to word of mouth, social media, radio ads…the list goes on and on. Every time I go back and they don’t take any action I see so many websites, off line, domain deleted. You cannot run a business with no traffic coming to the website. You can’t afford to not attract your ideal customer to you. The SEO Queen has generated hundreds of millions of downloads and streams, impressions and clicks for our clients. We have driven $250,000,000 in revenue for our clients since our launch in 2017. The key is to take action.   Investing in SEO is the best long term strategy to win. Just as a child invests time to learn his or her ABCs and then reads simple books, a foundation has to be laid in your marketing so that you do not go the way of the Do Do Bird.
Can I be transparent?  Starting a business and expecting that you can extract the profits from it immediately is not the way to scale at any level. Sacrifices must be made so that your business can continue to rise above the pitfalls that are inevitable in business. One of the reasons many businesses fail in the first 2 and 5 years is because of a lack of capital. Every brand has to scale its reach to even get to the point where you can talk about extracting the profits. Did you know Amazon was not profitable for 5 years? So many stories of companies clawing there way into market share, and some of the most simple eyeballs to obtain are online searching in search engines to the tune of 2 Trillion searches alone on Google!
What is a realistic Marketing Budget?
No matter  the size of the business, whether it is as big as Netflix and Disney or as small as the top 500 franchises in America, investing in your brand’s marketing is key.  Brands like Netflix, Disney, Amazon, Facebook and more spend on Advertising and this is what keeps these brands on everyone’s mind. We are constantly moving to allocate more dollars to marketing. Keyword research is a very valuable tool that can give you insight into how to talk about your products and services in a way that is more appealing to a broader swath of society, and also give you ideas on new products and services that you can add to your company’s lineup. I can’t tell you how many clients have made adjustments based on what they learned that the market is doing via keyword research. This is the reason why I started The SEO Queen, it is because I love serving and having a positive impact.
Many years ago when I was divorced, and was starting over I worked at companies that did not think like me. When I was working for others I did not agree with all of the decisions that were being made. In fact, I wore many hats, but I was on food stamps. I build this company from $0 to a recurring book of business worth $500,000.  I did not want to continue begging and asking for respect, and my accomplishments were not acknowledged because I did not understand how to advocate for my brilliance. One thing that I did know after I asked my boss for a raise 3 times and was rejected and had to live in the reality that I was on food stamps I decided to strike out on my own. When I struck out on my own, I did not understand all the aspects of business that I needed to be successful. My first attempt at an agency was shut down in part because I became a momma, and in part that I need to think about what I wanted to do, and how I wanted to do it. The good news is that I had 2 MIT undergraduate degrees under my belt, and 1 Masters Degree in Public Policy and the determination to help small businesses win online. Since the launch of the SEO Queen in 2017, 5 years after my first attempt at an agency I am constantly fighting for my clients. I am up leveling my team, and I am studying and learning.

404 error is what I find on a lot of websites when I go back to follow-up with clients that failed to act. One thing that The SEO Queen has observed is that whatever your revenue goal is, you HAVE to pay to play when it comes to attention. 10-30% of your goal has to be allocated to marketing. I have spoken to so many business owners this year that want a guaranteed outcome over night, and with marketing that is not so. It requires laying the foundation. They utilize National Placements in USA Today, Google Paid Ads, They have a Geo targeted approach for their SEO when it matters. On search engines they are leveraging the “Near Me” suffix and going after Long Tailed Terms, they have meta titles and meta descriptions, they have a call to action. These companies are using professional photography as well.
A professional photo shoot is worth every penny because it elevates your brand, and polishes the look of it.
